Description

Cavatina Guitar Favourites

Catalogue Number: ALC 1045

A world renowned artist at the early age of 16, Brazilian guitarist Marcelo Kayath won the Segovia Prize at the International Villa Lobos competition. In 1984 he became the only guitarist ever to win first prize in both the Toronto and Paris International Guitar Competitions. This album is a stunning example of why Classical guitar is often also known as Spanish guitar, whose national culture, both in Europe and through Latin America, has produced many of the remarkably popular tunes that are on this album.
